“SYMBOLS”: fundraising concert in support of Ukrainian veterans

On December 10th, a student-led collective Lihtar Orchestra is presenting a fundraising concert of classical music in support of a veteran’s rehabilitation program by the British-American charity Ukrainian Action. The evening will be opened with a welcome by Ukrainian Action’s Patron Sir Iain Duncan Smith – British MP and a big supporter of Ukraine.

The concert is realised with support from the Ukrainian Institute and dedicated to Hanna Havrylets, one of the most significant figures in Ukraine’s modern music who has passed just a few days after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022. Among other pieces the audience will hear her symphonic poem “Symbols”, finished on December 10th

exactly 12 years ago and written during the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity.
